The Role of Board President & Vice-President
The Board president leads the Board and is responsible for overseeing and handling a number of duties. In order to succeed in this role, the Board president must be knowledgeable about the community’s governing documents and have the ability to run an effective meeting. The Board president serves as the authority on all association rules and governing documents and appoints committees as dictated by the community’s bylaws. The Board vice president shares many of the leadership and procedural duties with the president, including assuming the leadership role when the president is unable to do so.
The Board vice-president shares many of the same duties as the president, which includes assuming the leadership role if the president is unable to do so.

- Presides at meetings – board meetings and annual meetings and any special meetings
- Executes contracts and signs legal documents – in his/her official capacity
- Day to day administration in conjunction with the property manager – Oversees the work of the property manager to ensure board directives are carried out
- Spokesperson for the board – to the association members and for the association members to the public
